block/main girdle or no?
so i have decided to get the parts to build my motor, but now i have another dilemma...
this is going to be a daily driven ls with rods, pistons with crower springs/retainers(getting cams when i go turbo) and either hondata or a chipped p28 from mr. mtber. for now im just going to bump the rev limit to 7.5k as the stock cams suck over that rpm, but once i get the turbo and add cams, it will see 7.5-8.5k at the track. should i add a block girdle?
honda-tech seems to be split 50/50 on this in every thread i have seen. some people say that have run an ls bottom end with no girdle to 9k with no problems, others say they wouldnt run over 7.5 without one.
i know someone that had a built ls(crower rods, je pistons, stock block) with a girdle and it was run to 8.5-9k and never had any problems, but i dont know anyone personally that has had a built ls without a girdle running that high for comparison.
thanks in advance!
