I know this info I also know that the 7 bolt cranks are not nitrated from factory they scar very easy low tolerance to low oil pressure where the 6 bolts are made of a harder material and could hold up a little longer to low oil pressure and we all know that eclipse have really low oil pressure on idle thats why its not good to hold your clutch in at a light and its good to do the clutch mod so you dont put any stress on the crank. I have been dealing with these cars now for several years now even discuss this topic with jerry aka lancerman and we both agree that the design of a 7 bolt block is better just the crank is weak and the evo is made with the same design as well but if you nitrate the crank I think that would solve the problem besides that its an awsome design.

coating or a
treatment like cryogenics?? Has anyone ever cryo'd a 7bolt crank? How about the 7bolts that come in the NA 2.4's do they have to be treated to be durable? Where can you have this done? and is it expensive? worth it?
