I know this info I also know that the 7 bolt cranks are not nitrated from factory they scar very easy low tolerance to low oil pressure where the 6 bolts are made of a harder material and could hold up a little longer to low oil pressure and we all know that eclipse have really low oil pressure on idle thats why its not good to hold your clutch in at a light and its good to do the clutch mod so you dont put any stress on the crank. I have been dealing with these cars now for several years now even discuss this topic with jerry aka lancerman and we both agree that the design of a 7 bolt block is better just the crank is weak and the evo is made with the same design as well but if you nitrate the crank I think that would solve the problem besides that its an awsome design.
