Left the house to meet people for dinner, guage says cool....raced a hatch on the interstate, guage says cool...turn into the parking lot guage says cool but then rapidly risies and doesnt stop until it hits the H so i turn the car off and go inside and eat. Car sat for about an hour & a half so the car was cold, i mean the needle was below the C. Heres where it gets wierd...I went from the Hooters on BBD to DM and Fletcher and the needle never budged, never made it above the C. While sitting at the light the needle begins to rise but only makes it to very first black line at the bottom of the guage then immediatly drops back down below the C. When the light turned green, i hit a couple of small bumps and the guage immediatly went up to "normal running temp" and stayed there until i reched my destination. As i left for home, the car sat running while i talked for about 5 min and the needle never rose above normal temp. About 2 miles down the road the needle begins to rise until it hits the top, past the H. From that point on, the needle would fall and rise between normal and BOOM about 2-3 times. Got home, lifted the hood...valve cover is hot but, not hotter than normal...top hose is very hot to the touch...bottom hose is hot but, i could hold onto it much loger then the top....i can hear the water in the radiator "boiling" but, the overflow is just warm. Since i have never inspected my cooling system immediatly after driving all night, im not sure if these conditions are normal. Keep in mind that during all of this, the car ran VERY well and was running without a thermostat and a "looped" fan switch(just until i have the time to find out WTF is going on)!! Any CONSTRUTCTIVE help is appreciated!!!
