It could probably do a number on the oil seals too but they've got the metal side-seals on the rotors in between them and the ATF.
The combustion chamber (rotor housing) do not have any water seals in it.They are on the side..

If you put ATF,in your combustion chamber,and it leaks to the waterseals,You have a seriuos problem than to worry about the rubber seals getting ate up.

Thats what happen when coolant seals break,and coolant/water goes into the combustion chamber (rotor housing)Causing the smoke out of the exhaust.

You do have rubber on the rotor.
