An attitude like that it what puts people that know when thier rights are being stepped on into defense mode.
Very easy to cross the line when your not following "the book" verbatim. You get someone that knows exactly where that line is and is ready to defend thier side of it when the cop crosses it trying to act like a badass, and you could end up with some serious trouble/injury.
There have been cases in the past where an officer crossed the line attempting to put someone under arrest and that person resisted and the officer was seriously hurt and upon later inspection, the arrest was found to not be legit. I believe he was fired as a result of that action and spent some time in a hospital aswell.
Yeah, officer saftly may be the first thing on an officers mind when initiating a traffic stop, but damn it, you better treat me with some common courtesy and some respect if you intend for this thing to be a polite exchange of ideas. There are alot of things that can be said and done that don't justify harassment and resisting and you better believe "I" have had pleanty of training time on this side of the line.
