Alright, rideurbusagrl, you need to go back and actually read the posts in this topic because it has already been established and is common knowledge to those that know thier right that you can refuse to allow an officer to search your vehicle upon request.

The only 2 ways around that are a warrant to search the vehicle or you were placed under arrest after a traffic stop for whatever(been there, done that x3).

I'm pretty confident that if an officer abuses the privledge of determining PC that there are punishments in place for just that reason.

He either has cause and will arrest you if he's confident a search will find something or he arrests you and finds nothing in which case you turb around and sue for unlawful imprisonment and illegal search and siezure.

I'm also pretty sure that if the traffic stop is not performed by the book then any evidence that is obtained as a result of the traffic stop is inadmisable in court.
