Too late to help you, maybe...... In a similar situation, I press onto the side
of the stud to keep it from turning, instead of pulling on the tire (which never did help me).
Second choice, if it can be done; is to come in from behind with mini-vise grips to hold the stud........but this may not work with the Honda design.
Third, try wedging a small diameter (taper the end) steel rod into the
hole with the stud to keep it from moving. Maybe it can be tapped in with
a skinny drift punch and a hammer.......and some patience.-Bob
