Now this "do it yourselfer" motor swap has just turned into a complete engine overhaul. After a decked head and block surface, new pistons and bearings, studs and MHG, you can honestly say that the engine could be a reliable motor swap that will last 150k or so.
But instead of an engine swap costing $700 to $1100 it will end up being $2200 to $2600 for a bone stock engine that is good for 235 bhp.
I'm only pointing this out because I have personally been burned by this engine time and time again with continuous problems. This engine is plagued with inherent flaws that can't be remedied.
that whole paragraph is a complete load of shit.....
first off you can get a jdm 7m that will have maybe 50k miles on it at MOST...
secondly if you have the engine out you are stupid not to put in a mhg...and do this is rather simple now that the cometic is available...
so to have a perfectly good engine in the car with a mhg...youre probably looking at 1500.
now go and try a 1g to begin with....then when you do have it shipped here...mmmhmmmm..
and im sorry to say...but if you have continuous problems with the 7m its 100% user error....
rod bearing problems are 100% user error....and if the hg is fixed CORRECTLY then there wont be any problems.
