I agree that the newer Vettes are terrific cars. My "hype" comment is in reference to a lot of what is said and written. Take a look at this thread and the earlier comment about the Z06 running low 11s. Somewhere somebody got that idea and those kinds of comments are all over the internet, even in print in "respectable" publications. But anybody with any experience at all knows how far-fetched those numbers are. That's what I call hype. And no car gets more of it than a Vette.
Regardless, the C5 Z06 was a formidable track foe and the new Z06 is going to leave my 97 GTS in the dust. I think it's time for an upgrade....
