they just hired a guy. know cars . doesnt know audio..
its all in your game..
all the installers in my shop some how found out how much i make and are pissed
but all i said to them was its all about selling your self.
now is a good time to try for a job at one of the chains.. they are getting employees for the holiday season.
i started a circuit city in 1988, they hired me from home depot... the shop manager knew i could build boxes and did car audio for friends. it was fall and they were hiring poeple for the season. that lasted for 6 months then went to audio itch and did nothing but custom shit (they did much better work back then) moved to colarado and worked part time on commision only and the more mecp certs i received the higher % i was paid on install... i hit master and was paid 45% of install price - i was making $1000 a week- part time, did nothing but custom. had many cars go to nats, I build my spl van, 164.4 on 1000watts and 16 12's - held the mountain state spl record for 3 years. got sick of the cold and moved back to florida - changed careers knowing florida does not pay in car audio. Offered many jobs, but not enough to pay bills.

dude, just take pictures and make a list of all you installs you do. take the basic installer mecp test .... guarentee a job at best buy or circuit city.... work there 1-2 years -try Sound advice - pays about the best plus it is not a mom & pop.......
