OHC is a good set up butthere is also that several foot of timing chain to loosen up and throw your timing off, there is the tensioners that can fail.

also Ford was using OHC on a 427 motor in the 60s. that was a big block that produced 700hp and spun 7500RPM built by Ford it was designed and built in a matter of months. It was ready to dominate NASCAR until the Mopar boys got scared because the HEMI could not touch it at the time and threatened to leave NASCAR if they did not ban it. so then Ford took it drag racing and dominated with it there for a few years
