Ford could have used pretty much identical parts to the LS and saved a LOT of money, this isn't 1940, none of this stuff is complicated anymore, it doesnt raise the price much, especially in the volume that the Mustang is produced. If they had to save a little here and there then they could have used the same designs, but made the subframes in steel instead of alum.
It costs a lot of money to design all new stuff, especially in the tooling to manufacture and assemble it.
I could just imagine driving around in a new mustang and following a Ford Explorer with its nice aluminum independent rear suspension staring me in the face laughing at me.
Again Ford = fail
No one has posted a reason for Ford = pass yet

Yea the GTO is 10k more. And doesnt sell as well as the Mustang does.
And tell me why would Ford use the total LS setup with a Jag/LS motor, then sell the car for 20k less than what a fully loaded LS sells for???
