Did you think that while a small displacement buzzy 4cyl may make you happy, having your head snap back from the sudden acceleration that only torque can provide may make others happy? Japanese people have their different culture, and part of that difference is how they derive happiness from driving. If I lived in Japan I'd have a small displacement (better fuel economy while I'm sitting in traffic) handling car (twisty mountainous terrain and wide open interstates for top speed runs), but I don't. I live in the US, where we have to get our kicks 1320 feet at a time.
BTW, nothing personal taken, just debating. I'm having fun!
