I can guarantee that if it is not ported, my stock port, stock turbo vert running 8psi would walk all over it. For $3700 you can usually get a nice turboII, For me, if it's not a 2000lb FB a non-turbo engine will just not be fast enough. My opinion is that his car is $700 too much, granted he probably spent $3000 putting that car together but nobody will ever get their money out of their modded FC. I'd offer him $3000 at the most (which I'm sure he'll feel offended.)
the 13b-re block is not even somewhat close to an s5 block, the 13b-re without turbos will make more then 140hp because of the much larger 4 port, and the exhaust ports not having the restrictors in the sleeves. a 13b-re motor would be just like having a decently street proted na 4 port 13b, which beats the hell out of a 6 port. the compression doesnt make much difference at all in rotaries, and the re has about the same compression as an s4 na. you cant put the fd intake on an s4 or s5 engine without a lot of modification. what i would do is buy the car and put a single turbo on it and put an apexi ecu or microtech in it.
