1) the 6speed in the spec is a piece of shit. They use the same one in the hyundai tibby. The 2002 SER non-spec v, with less rated power and torque, keeps up with the 6speed in the 1/4 mile. Why? Less shifting.

2) There wasn't any pure technology in the Spec V suspension. It's basically extremely stiff springs that are underdamped, and a couple of inadequate roll bars. Hence the massive understeer. Understeer would be hella worse if they weren't smart and didn't throw in that helical LSD. The b13 has independent suspension, remember, while the b15 has pretty much identical style suspension to the b14, macpherson front, multilink beam rear.
