I will keep the names private but lets just say at one point I knew of 6 or so mod motors that were broke. Most of them with rod or bearing failure. Now lets compare how many 5.0's are running around compared to the 4.6's and the 5.0's you mentioned that took a shit will be a small percentage.
I am not busting the 4.6 peoples balls, shit I have one in my Crown Vic but I just get a little testy when I see the mod guys pick on the Fox Bodies all the time.

Actually the mod motor is a pretty strong motor if u look at it. There is 1 guy in the 10's(2v) on a stock longblock w/ a power adder. One went into the 9's(4v) but that was with a serious tune. How many 5.0's do u see in stock trim running those #'s? <crickets chirping> But as far as bang for buck u can beat old school power.
