To anwser you question, the LS/VTEC will be much more fun driving from stoplight to stoplight, due to the increased TQ, But the issue you will have is REV's the LS bottom-end was only ment to rev to 7.5K, the B16 head doesnt really start to flow untill 6-7K, If you do it the right way and build it the right way, using good parts. you can aleave this problem, but then you are still left with a bottom end that has a kinda shitty rod/stroke ratio, The b16 has the best, then the GSR and so on, The RS/ratio boils down to reving range, and no matter what you do, the LS will never be able to rev as high as say a B16/B17 or even the GSR, Not saying that people dont rev the piss out of there LS/VTEC's but thats were the reliability issues come into play. All in all the LS/VTEC is not the greatest motor to just throw togeather and expect big HP numbers, all it is, is a Poor mans type-R, without the reving range, But throw a turbo or nitrous on it and it becomes something totally diffrent, This is comming from a person who just sold a 425HP LS/VTEC 11:9:1 comp Nitrous feed motor to someone in GA. He loves the motor... It all boils down to what the car is needed for and what the future holds for it, Boost?? NA??? Nitrous?? Plan ahead.. Good luck..
