Before you go to the dealer, check the obvious things: You would be surprised how many of us have had these problems

Kickstand cutoff switch, loose connection in the on/off switch, low battery(enough for lights), blown fuse in the fuse panel, neutral interlock switch(put the bike in gear and rock it back and forth then put it back in neutral)

All of my recent exp is with Suzuki's, but most have the same features
