I used to love driving my 87 LX 5.0 without using the clutch (other than starting out obviously). I'd drive it like a dump truck. Bring it to about 2800 RPM's, slip the shifter into neutral, blip the gas and slide it into the next gear. As long as you aren't grinding when shifting, you're actually doing more good for your car than bad. It won't hurt the tranny (again if no grinding) but you're saving your clutch. It was the perfect thing to get me to think about driving again after driving stick for so many years.
