There is top end power to be gained by using the high port head, cams, and intake manifold. I think it is worth doing if you want the most power out of your car. There is no machine work involved at all.

You will need a few different things like a new throttle and cruise control cable, a new power steering pump and suction hose, PCV hose, and a new intake hose, just to name a few things.

While you have the head off, I would recommend at least replacing the valve stem seals and have the head inspected and cleaned by a machine shop. You may also want to have it resurfaced if it is not perfectly flat.

Always use new head bolts, too.
