I need some suggestions on what is wrong with the way my wheels are fitting. Here's the skinny of what I have: I bought the 15x8 Weld Prostars with 5-1/2 backspacing and a set of 275/50/15 MT street radials. I flipped the quad shock and dropped the jack, it looked like I had plenty of clearance, took it around the block and it had run a groove in the tire right above the sidewall about an inch wide. It didn't ruin the tire thank god. Today I came home and took the quad shock off completely, dropped the jack and had very little clearance on the inner fenderwell, especially around the spring. I used a rubber body hammer and banged in the inner fenderwell as much as I could. Now it has a gap of about the size of the tip of my index finger by the fenderwell by the spring. How much clearance do I need? Would a small spacer work, but than would I get into an outside fender problem? Any suggestions would help, I'm getting pissed because I got a brand new set of Weld's and I can't even drive my car. By the way the car has Tokico struts and Steeda springs.
