yep, the h22a1 is closed deck, but that doesnt really have much to do with it, FRM is FRM. all H series motors, S2K motors and late model NSK motors have fiber reinforcedn metal sleeves aka FRM. FRM was used to keep the block size down, while providing structural rigidity to the cylinder sleeves since they were so close together. .

wiseco has developed a forged piston to run in FRM applications by using a coating on the ring lands and piston skirting BUT it doesnt seem to be working

read about the problems here with the wiseco's, starts off good but towards the end of the thread it gets ugly. seems they arent lasting.
