Learning in the dirt is very forgiving a packed full of opportunities to learn lessons that tend to be very painful and expensive on the street.

If that is not a viable option...
Do you posses self control and common sense?
If the answer is yes, then it is worth considering.
If the answer is no, then do not get a bike.

My experience has been that females tend to be less inclined to do the stupid stuff that we males do... feel free to derive from that what you wish

You just need to understand that you will crash and it is your responsibility to minimize the likelihood and impact.
