Do you posses self control and common sense?
If the answer is yes, then it is worth considering.
If the answer is no, then do not get a bike.

My experience has been that females tend to be less inclined to do the stupid stuff that we males do... feel free to derive from that what you wish

You just need to understand that you will crash and it is your responsibility to minimize the likelihood and impact.

Wear Your Gear and Be Heads-Up!
I grew up on a dirt bike and your right, dirt is much more forgiving, however I am smart enough (okay some may argue that point) to know there is a huge difference between a dirt bike and a sports bike. I am not new to bikes or the safety issues of bikes. I am however semi-new to sport bikes. Wearing the gear isn't a question for me, I will wear it. As someone once told me, while buying a 700.00 helmet............
" I think my head is worth $700.00" ~ya gotta wear the gear and you have to ride defensively. BTW Cecil throw your 2 cents in anytime~

Motorcyclists give a litany of reasons for not wearing helmets: They impair peripheral vision, they are hot, or they restrict the ability to talk on cell phones. Other riders just like the feeling of the wind in their hair.

WTF WHO RIDES AND TALKS ON A CELL PHONE?

I won't lie, I'm guilty of text messaging while stopped at a light or even answering a quick call to say "I'm on the bike"...but only for a second and I dont put the shit in gear until it's back on my belt loop....that's insane shit right there people.

Full-face, jacket, gloves, jeans ALWAYS! Have been seeing to many "riders" with absolutely no gear on the interstates! They make bikers look ridiculous.

people really need to wear there gear more... friend of mine had a car run a red light in front of him and he hit the driver side door. he died twice on the way to the hospital... it he hadn't had his gear on he wouldnt be around right now. i can't stress how important it is to wear your leathers and helmet
