I would never run an engine leaner with higher octane, more timming yes but not leaner. Some cases leaner will make more power , but also turns things to a melted mess.


QUOTHE = mtber ] Whp is not a good refference of when to run higher octane fuel because you have to factor for compression ratio & charge density etc.

I said I use it as a " safe point " , on Honda-tech they make 9000 hp on 87 octane ..... Every tuner has there own way. Alot depends on the motor , I have made over 400 on Hess 93 oct , but I wouldn't recomend it.
