Well, if you are referring to my broken head stud that limited me to only 300 HP at the back wheels as 'never working right' you might be close to being correct. That didn't occur till the 120K mile point so it did give me a lot of trouble free service up until then. It was still my daily driver right up to 130K miles when I decided to overhaul it after my starter ring gear lost a couple of teeth which required pulling the motor to replace.

In five years of daily driving there was one time back in 1999 when it was in the shop for two days while I changed the clutch and adjusted the valves.

I would say thats pretty trouble free for a modified turbo that was pushing around 2HP per cubic inch.

From what I understand your stang was pushing about the same power per cube but had a bad habbit of blowing up every couple of visits to the track.
