ps...scott, you wanna help me do the springs for now till i pull the heads?...and 1.6 rr's

sure.... look on ebay for comp 987 they are 75 bucks plus like 7 bucks shipping... good springs brand new.. ill help you, also get stock length (7.2") chromoly hardened pushrods, a nice set of guide plates and NSA 1.6 roller rockers... other random stuff you will need is retainers, valve stem locks... bla bla bla.. probably only take a few hours tops
quite honestly if you are going to do the 1.6 rockers wait until you have the heads off... you are gonna see some much better gains from that mod once you have a nice 3 or 4 angle valve job and you get the spring seats and stuff all lined up.. just my .02... a good 3 angle valve job on stock 1.5 ratio rockers, stock valves and stock springs can net you anywhere from 2-4 hp per cylinder.. the machine work is where the power is picked up not in the 1.6 rockers.. yeah you will get a bit more lift but what good is that lift is the valves arent closing at top quality? how long til your planning on taking the heads off?
