5.0's respond much better and much cheaper to mods than any other car I can think of. Unless you can think of something else ?
DSM's respond nicely to cheap mods. As do LS1's.
Except for the fact that LS1's parts are double and sometimes triple what 5.0 parts cost. The thing people forget about 5.0's is the torque. They were rated at 300 ft/lbs of torque from the factory. That's pretty damn stout for a stock car, especially with it only having 225 hp. Torque is where it's at on the street anyway. If I race on the street it's usually over before I get in 3rd gear, no need to go to jail.
