What should have taken maybe an hour to do took me 4 hours. I was going to pull the engine and tranny in one piece. The person who installed the AOD and 302 took some shortcuts. After rounding off the mount bolts they proceeded to tac-weld them into place. They alwo tac-welded the damn cross member into place on the frame. The H pipe was also tac welded where there should be rubber grommets marry the H pipe to the body. WTF!!!! You will not believe what I went through to get the damn thing out! I had to whip out the damn hack saw and cut off half the headers to get the motor out because the H pipe wouldn't drop out. Has anyone ever seen or heard of anyone doing this. Or is this a classic case of Dumbass engineering?
