Help me understand something........
What should have taken maybe an hour to do took me 4 hours. I was going to pull the engine and tranny in one piece. The person who installed the AOD and 302 took some shortcuts. After rounding off the mount bolts they proceeded to tac-weld them into place. They alwo tac-welded the damn cross member into place on the frame. The H pipe was also tac welded where there should be rubber grommets marry the H pipe to the body. WTF!!!! You will not believe what I went through to get the damn thing out! I had to whip out the damn hack saw and cut off half the headers to get the motor out because the H pipe wouldn't drop out. Has anyone ever seen or heard of anyone doing this. Or is this a classic case of Dumbass engineering?

lol that sucks. Did you get it fixed? They were working when you left the house. Ryan I am just sorry it took me so long to yank it out. I am investing in a metal Sawzall today probably to cut out that crossmember. I have never had those problems before. Thanks for being patient man.

Don't forget the die grinder and sawzall!
Sucks that people do that stuff. Like at salvage yards, it takes more time to go back to the tool box and get the side cutters and hack the stuff all up than actually use the quick disconnect fittings.
That sounds as bad as the shops that weld the exhaust systems from the manifolds all the way back to the tailpipes all as 1 complete piece. It always makes me wonder how they expect you to get the tranny out without cutting the exhaust and then re-welding it back on.
