So I Pulled the Ls-t last night..
Yes, as most of you know I've been having lots of problems with this ls turbo motor, so last night I pulled it out, and traded the motor, tranny, and turbo kit for an incomplete LS setup.. The motor I got is 100% brand new, most of the stuff is still in the boxes. Eventhough the teg is my weekend toy, I can't deal with the problems of turbo, mostly b/c I know nothing about it, I'm an n/a guy! I do plan on going ls/vtec on this motor later on down the road, but for now I'd like to just keep it as a pretty stout ls. Below is a list of all of the parts I got in trade, and will be done hopefully by saturday. I'll be taking pics of the buildup just for shits and giggles. Heres the setup:
93 b18a1 block, freshly hot tanked, honed, bored .25 over
.25 over JDM ITR pistons w/rings & wrist pins
Shotpeened LS rods
Micropolished & balanced crank
ARP rod bolts & head studs
ITR water pump
ITR oil pump
DC 4-2-1 header
99 b18b1 head ported by me (dremmel style y0!)
93 b18a1 port matched intake manifold (also dremmel style LOL)
STR cam gears (gettin crower 60403 cams from a friend)
s1 close ratio b16 tranny
ACT 4 puck clutch
ACT streetlite 12.5lb flywheel
N.O.S wet kit
Well theres the new setup, he gave me all of this AND 150 bucks to pay some bills for my ls motor, tranny, turbo kit, like I said, it should be done by this saturday, if not then def. next saturday. I plan to get a skunk2 intake manifold that has been setup for direct port, and dyno tune this car on the direct port 100 shot. Should be a pretty sick LS. Not a bad deal for a worn out LS motor, LS tranny, and a home made turbo kit. Well there you have it, enough of me rambling on, and I will be posting pics and complaining about the problems I'll be running into within the next few days of the buildup.
