out of all the answers in this thread, this is the only correct answer. pretty sad.

if you go through your own insurance company, you WILL have to pay the deductable. then when progressive subrogates thought the other company, you will get your deductable back. this is a not-at-fault accident, dont worry your rates will not be affected by this type of claim. i've worked for progressive for over 4 years, refer to sig.
