Now that will rev the car higher than the limiter.

Typically the stock tach are off by a few hundred. When not in gear the limiter will still work. This is how I launch my car. I've hit my limiter right before I let the clutch out.

One time in the burnout box I wasn't paying attention and looked down at my tach and it read 7600 but it didn't hit the limiter. I highly doubt it spun to 76. I'm sure you have a limiter and I believe stangerang is right about where the limiter is. -Mark
