Heres my honest opinion. If you want something reliable unexpensive and relatively easy to mantain and basically you can beat it within their limits then I say to a b16a they are cheep...very cheep these dayseither that one or a b18c1 the only downside on the b18c1 is that is harder to find and much more expensive than a b16.

Also your car should take any b series engine but it has to be modified since those motor will not drop in easily (can anyone correct me on that).

The CRVTEC is a pleasant experience is actually the hot ticket in the hybrid world. Even QuickF20c was luring me into those monsters couple of days ago. I rode on a b20 powered hatch around here and let me tell you its pretty freggin nice. But if that what you wanna do..grab your pens and paper because there is some serious research to be done my friend is not easy to do and there are several other counterparts from other b series engine that you will need to make it work properly this is not to discourage you but yet to warn you not to take any short cuts when building an engine.
