While I'm still undecided on this one, I would like to point out that a turbo can be used without any type of intercooler at all, just the boost levels have to be low, or an alternate fuel needs to be used. So I guess in a twisted way, an intercooler could be considered some sort of power adder, especially if using an additional chemical/substance to make more power. I think the turbo cars would still be able to do well with air to air, and it may make things a little more competetive for the nitrous cars. Hmmmmmmmm............
I don't think the intercooler its self is a power adder, just how its cooled.
there's no trade off with using dry ice. and its an outside source, which makes it a adder to power.
now a big air to air, hanging off the front. there would be loses due to aero and psi drop because of the size needed to cool the amount of air there pushing thru. and you didn't just introduce a 2nd source of power........I.e., dry ice. even with just water you would need a heat exchanger in the wind some where.

of course they like having ambient temperature below the outside
air temp, we all like have and unfair advantage over the other guy when you race him, I know I do...
and yes I say hhmmmmmmmmmmmmm as well,
I really think the nitrous cars would be the faster one if they changed the rules.
I really like the turbo cars, so I'm not sure if that's what I would want to happen..........
