Default Walbro fuel pump install notes.

Thank you Taylor and Dan for pointing out to me what was wrong with my initial install of the Walbro fuel pump. I never read anywhere of anyone having issues with their pump after they received it so I figured it was a direct drop in replacement (bolt it in and go) type of install. Well, now I know that's not the case.

PROBLEMS: I was running out of gas before the empty mark on the tank so I was like I didn't move the sending unit so I was pretty stumped but I could live with it because I shouldn't be driving all the way to empty anyways. Well another problem cropped up, sliding my car used to be fun and exciting, well not since I put my turbo on. I would be mid slide then the car would just like spit and sputter and kill all my momentum and speed so that sucked ass.

RESOLUTION: It turns out I didn't mount the fuel pump on the bracket in the tank so everytime I would slide the dumb thing would swing and come out of the fuel. < so obvious, just too dumb to see it. How I thought it just sat in there, even with a huge metal thing attached to it that looks like it supposed to mount to something I have no idea.

The above was a dumb mistake but I hadn't read any problems with people running out of gas before empty, didn;t search that much either soo... It turns out one must use the stock s14 fuel sock and attach it to the Walbro. It makes since once I looked at it. The Walbro one is only like 2 inches long and is perpendicular to the pump itself. The factory sock is about 5 inches long and hangs straight down off the pump thus allowing it to reach into the dark abyss of the fuel tank to drink the little gas that is left and solving my running out of gas before empty problem.

CLIFF NOTES: When installing Walbro fuel pump on S14 use the factory fuel sock with the pump instead of the one Walbro gives you. When putting the pump back in the tank don't be and just drop it in there like I did, take the bracket it's mounted on and clip it on its mount located toward on the upper front inside the tank.

Thanks again Taylor and Dan, I probably would have never gone back in to check it had you guys not talked with me about it.
