Non ajustable, but they are in there.
And the danger of stock shifters, Bill, is overshifting. You can actually run it past the gear engagement point and do the same amount of damage as you implied with a short shifter. Plus, with a longer handle, you have more leverage and more destructive power at your fingertips. All in all, it comes down to preference. Some folks like em, some dont.
I can tell you that the b&m is worlds ahead of my busted and falling apart shifter.
