Seriously though, the b&m is like butter to me. I like having a car your average 98 lb weakling can't drive. No power steering, higher effort shifter, ect.... All it needs is a really beefy clutch with alot of effort and I am set.
in my se-r i just cut the shifter down, im not into short shifters, and with as sensitive as the se-r tranny is, i figured i wouldnt give it anymore stress. and i thought the shifter feel was pretty decent.
but that thing was just wayyy too damn high.

all short shifters do is destroy transmissions. the b@m is the worst. its throws are to short and just shifting sprititedly you can hear the synchros grinding. i can shift faster than the tranny can with a stock shifter so i tend to stay away from short shifters. on cars with crappy stock shifters they can help like a volkswagon, but the nissan shifter is pretty good stock. for most FWD they help.

I strongly disagree.
While I could always "outshift" the transmission with a stock shifter, it is, in my opinion, truck-like. The shift area is just massive, especially for a "sports car." Meanwhile, the Miata and Integra have very, very nice shifters for stock.
When I did have the OBX, it still had slop in it.
The B&M has the feeling of positive engagement, and you know what gear you're in. I didn't get it to help me shift faster.

Non ajustable, but they are in there.
And the danger of stock shifters, Bill, is overshifting. You can actually run it past the gear engagement point and do the same amount of damage as you implied with a short shifter. Plus, with a longer handle, you have more leverage and more destructive power at your fingertips. All in all, it comes down to preference. Some folks like em, some dont.
I can tell you that the b&m is worlds ahead of my busted and falling apart shifter.

I've felt the B&M on a 240SX as well, and I think it's too stiff, way too stiff. I would like something that feels like stock with a shorter throw.
