i'm not sure thats what matt was referring to, but i've never heard of that. it makes sense, but whether or not your car is stock or high output, i dont think it would matter and i've never had a problem with that, nor have i heard about anyone suffering from that (except those of you who like to "race" on 1/8th of a tank )

iirc, i want to say swirl pot sounds something like a machining done to head ports or valves...not sure. gonna go google and read up!

jesse - yeah, i'd like to have my car up and running by new year's, and hopefully we can start our block buildups in the spring together. there is a group buy on ARP head and main studs on ka-t.org right now, saves you about $60, except im low on funds from hurricane damages and etc. i'm trying to research whether those phosphate coated supertech pistons are any good. i've heard decent stuff about them but not on KA's yet. the price is right there with the CP's, but i'm just trying to find out whether the phosphate coating actually holds up for any good amount of time or if its just BS that burns off after 1000 miles. also, i'm looking to get that landspeed thing too, of course without the wiseco's (and im upgrading my rods while im at it for safe measure), probably going to pick up the timing kit as well. let me know if you want to sell one of those s13 motors. my s14 head i have is nasty and i kinda made mistakes taking it apart since originally i only wanted it to learn on.

matt - i'll definately talk to you and jeff and scott and get some inputs about small mods such as the oil pump shimming and the mods for helping the coolant flow in the back of the block. (i did notice on my spare motor that those ports are damn small)
