I have the idenical phone as Alan and have had no issues. Working @ sprint like I do, I know firsthand that Sprint sucks. Cingular GSM is pretty sweet as it jumps from network to network with other service providers. Cingular and ATT merged and ATT has a 5 year contract with Sprint to use their network as well.

Bottom line is that if your cell service sucks, it is most likely with Alltel or Nextel. Any other interruption in service is most likely due to a high usage area (ie alot of fuckers yapping on their cellphones and monopolizing the network as it can only handle so many users per tower). After testing both my Sanyo w/Sprint and my Motorola w/Cingular, I found their performance idenical in heavy cell usage downtown Tampa.

Before you go blaming service providers, research network coverage, tower coverage and overall user density. Or just ask me...I deal with that crap everyday.
