Just think about how dissapointed you are going to be once you dump a bunch of money in this car and are still getting beat by stock 5.0's. If I were you I would save your money and when you have enough, sell the 4cyl and get a decent 89 and up 5.0. Save yourself the frustration and dissapointment of trying to make a 88 hp motor powerful enough to make a 3200 lb car fast. A stock 5.0 on spray can go mid 12's. How much money would it take to make a 4 cyl car go mid 12's? And doing a complete V8 swap is a big pain in the ass unless you go carburated. Take my car for example, 16 lbs of boost, properly designed turbo kit, better head sealing, race fuel, good tune, and whaala 250% more hp. I'm gonna be able to run mid 10's on the stock motor. Add 250% to your 4cly and you might be able to go mid 13's. I had an LX that was stock with a 3.73 gear and an H-pipe with slicks it went 13.20. Just trying to save you from wasting your hard earned money and maybe some frustration, at least you bought a Mustang, that was a good first step.
