I need one for the chevelle (its got a 350) and from what I see they are sold depending if I have a 153 or a 168 tooth fly wheel, and it never fails, I don't know. I do know the bolt pattern on my starter is starggered and not in line.

Is the diference between the starter for a 153 flywheel and the 168 flywheel just the bolt pattern, or is the actual gear on the starters diferent? Can someone please educate me .
