I know I'm coming late into this thread.. I've been in the field the past week...
Ok... question of 600 or 750/liter bike..
I've owned a 00 Gixxer 600, a '03 fourtieth Anniversary Busa, and an 01 R1.. I'm just going to leave the busa out because it's a totally different type of ride..(more of a cruiser sit back n chill bike..) Between the 600 and the R1 there isn't much difference except peak power in my opinion.. I mean.. they both take some revs to get some go power out of them.. the R1 usually kicks in about 5-6k rpms.. My old gixxer was a little bit higher at 7-8k rpms.. yes the R1 will do wheelies much easier.. but like said earlier.. how do you wanna die again? When it comes to handling your talking between which brand... each sits differently..
Ok... and for Brands to get.. from what I know. The suzuki's I've had were flawless.. ran forever and haven't had any problems with them.. The R1 has the Notorious ticking and I'm currently having problems with the suspension/wobble hopefully cured soon.. The honda's I've heard are great bikes but aren't as powerful by a couple hp..(not that big of a diff..) but are much more comfortable.. The Kawasaki's.. I dunno if they cleaned their record up but last time I checked they were always in the shop... I may be wrong about the newer bikes.. But once a pos.. always a pos in my eyes... some things just don't change.. HOWEVER.... the new 636 are looking badass and if you like those fruity colors... go for it... it's got a warranty right? However I doubt that covers hardly anything.. but... it's not my choice.. Personally... i like '00gixxer 600's or before or 99 gixxer 750's or before...
Now.. about the busa... it really was a "sport-touring" compared to these bikes... The busa was really comfortable and actually felt less bumps then any of my other bikes and less bumps then MOST cars... it was nice... It has a mean ass power band though.. it starts around 3k rpms... and it doesn't stop... I could never use the full potential of that fucker.. nor would I want to.. I had it for 4 months and didn't go over 165mph... I do believe I was still in fourth...

yeah... I love that bike because it was more of a chill bike but now I got this R1 I just want to stunt... I need another busa... hehe.. I had my 600 for 3 almost 4 years...I pretty much used all it's abilities.. it was my learner bike and I came to be quite comfortable on it.. HOWEVER I will be the first to admit it did reach up and bite me on occasions... it caught me offgaurd sometimes when I wasn't expecting.. It had plenty of power and think about it.. the newer ones are suppose to have more power and also a higher rev limit... u choose..
