i believe you but i was under the impression that most every block worked with its own series..
besides the dohc d-series zc and the later d-series sohc engines
well you already mentioned the d series zc but also the later d series dohc motor (d16a1) but also the knew d series 2001 (sorry dont know that engine code off the top of my head) that head doesnt bolt to all the d series block it has oval shaped cylinders. Also as far as b series go the b20a ( or whatever the engine code is for the 4G prelude). It doesnt bolt up 100% to the other b series.
