Right. Posting inaccurate information is only going to confuse those trying to learn a few things. Sounds like some of you need to go back to Chapter 1 of Basic Box Building. Fill does not slow down anything, what it is doing is when the sub starts to move air it makes the fibers of the fill rub together and creates heat, what happens when air heats up?.....thats right it expands therefore making the air in the box more dense and then the subs see's a little bit bigger box. Physics are our friends kiddies. You're not going to gain anything major, theory is about .2 cubic ft. at MOST. Helps in some setups, doesn't do shit in others. You want to try it in a ported box, knock yourself out. Rule of thumb, however, is sealed only. I can't see much effectiveness in a ported enclosure being the rate of air exchange is so rapid and often.
Try it with it, try it without it, stick with whatever sounds best to "you." Hell, we've got a kid on here who thinks plywood boxes sound awesome, so anything is possible.
