Ok so im driving home and my car starts making a squeaking noise. And the more I drive the louder it gets. Finnly it turns into a high pitch squel so I cut off my AC and it still doesnt stop.
I get to a red light and I see all this whiteish smoke coming from under the hood. So I pull into a mechanics shop and they pop the hood and the noise is coming from the belt side and so is the smoke but they are not sure exactly where.

The oil is fine, the coolant looks to be fine, and the exhaust has no weird smoke coming out.

So they say its probbly somethign seized. So I leave it there for diagnostics.


What do you think it is???? And how much is what you think goign to cost me?

The car is a 96 GTI 2.0 8v with exactly 94000 miles as of yesterday.
