Default the little 240 nick-nacks

okay, ive realized everyone has been having a bunch of little things go wrong in there 240.

so i thought for the newer guys, like me, there should be a compiled list of what you should do before you start modifying the car to make it just about problem free.

things like:

battery corroding the fuses/box and over flow reservoir.
solution: relocate battery and get aftermarket overflow (helps pass tech)

rubber grommet on the brake pedal breaking and brake lights always on.
solution: get a bolt and 2 nuts and replaced the rubber grommet with this (going to do this tomorrow).

check all grounds and fuses for corrosion and breaks. replace if neccesary.

check battery and power/ground cables for corrosion or splices. replace if needed.

get rid of top timing chain guard.

check for abnormal wear on the chain guides/tensioners and check where the plastic guide clips into the metal bracket for breaks (found a broken one in funks ka, could have spelt disaster if the plastic guide broke away from the guide bracket).

check the timing chains for wear and cracks.

get a power steering cooler to prevent future power steering pump failures.

get a fire extinguisher rated for electrical and chemical fires for just in case reasons.

check for worn suspension pieces.

get the motor compression tested.

check oil and fuel pressures.

replace the belts.

please feel free to add on. just thought that this more important to do first than modifying the car cause i know it sucks to have random small problems pop up all the time. im tired of it now. now i want to go through the car, bumper to bumper, to get rid of all the small potential problems. i think this is a better process to upgrading a car now than just jumping into with new expensive stuff thats not really needed yet.
