I am doing a head swap on a d16a block and a 96 sohc v-tec head. It is coming with (gaskets dist int/man plugs wires head bolts tb sensors valvetrain ) i already know I need a v-tec header what else do i need to make it run without any probs. Also can anybody help me put the head on pretty cheap.
make sure you remove the oil control orifice valve. You dont need a vtec header any d series header will work. It would be easiest to use the d16a6 dist and intake manifold/injectors to make wiring easier however the 16y8 manifold can work. Any d series head gasket will work the d16y8 gasket is the thinnest its .027 thick while the z6 is .049 thick thats .2 compression difference between the 2. Just use a rpm activated switch to control where vtec comes on.
