Hello
I bought a new set of tires a couple of months ago and when they were first mounted on my car they were really loud. They made a loud humming noise that seemed to get louder as I increased speed. Well I assumed it was my new tires just needing to break in. Its been about 3 months now and they still make the noise.
Heres the catch though...I swapped the rims that had the new tires on them with my old rims with old tires to be sure that the noise was really coming from the new tires. The sound was still there.

The weird part is that I dont remember hearing this sound before I got the new tires. Could this be a suspension/brake/drivetrain problem? (It sounds like it mainly comes from the rear of the car.)
Anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be? Its really annoying...it gets so loud on the highway that it drowns my exhaust out. Its driving me nuts.
BTW the new tires are 195/60/14s on HX rims and my car is lowered about 2 inches.
Any ideas would be much apprietiated
Mike.
